We conducted a social experiment with a user to compare his happiness levels. The primary device we used deploys wearable EEG (electroencephalogram) and we used it in combination with Facial Expression Recognition (FER) technology to intuitively showcase the relative level of happiness in the user when he is engaged in various activities – posting on social media, consuming social media content, chatting with a friend on a chat app and hugging his mother. The EEG headset detects Alpha and Beta waves in the user’s brain, to measure their level of calm and focus respectively. An algorithm authenticates and combines readings from EEG headset and Facial Recognition data to calculate the user’s relative happiness level.
